NU-Oklahoma set for prime-time telecast
LINCOLN -- Nebraska and Oklahoma will renew one of college football’s traditional rivalries before a prime-time national television audience on Nov. 1. The Big 12 Conference has announced that the Huskers’ matchup with No. 4-ranked Oklahoma in Norman will be televised nationally by either ABC or ESPN, beginning at 7 p.m.
The network for the telecast will be determined after this Saturday’s games. It will either be on ABC or ESPN.
The national telecast against Oklahoma will mark the fifth consecutive week Nebraska has been televised nationally. The Huskers have also been on national television against Missouri (ESPN), Texas Tech (FSN), Iowa State (Versus) and will be this week against Baylor (Versus).
The matchup between Texas and Texas Tech will also be played at 7 p.m. on Nov. 1 and will be carried on ABC or ESPN. Other Big 12 games selected for telecast on Nov. 1 include Kansas State at Kansas (11:30 a.m., FSN) and Iowa State at Oklahoma State (2:30 p.m., ABC).
The meeting between Nebraska and Oklahoma is the first regular-season meeting between the schools since a 2005 matchup in Lincoln. The teams also met in the 2006 Big 12 Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.
Game times and television information for Nebraska’s Nov. 8 game against Kansas and Nov. 15 game at Kansas State will be determined six to 12 days in advance. The Huskers’ Nov. 28 game against Colorado will be televised nationally on ABC, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
