Nebraska-Iowa State predictions

AMES, Iowa -- Husker fans, don't freak out when you turn on the TV for this morning's game. Despite what you initially see, Nebraska isn't playing USC -- those are just Iowa State Cyclones disguised in Trojan gear.

Anyway, Nebraska comes into Jack Trice Stadium trying to shake a three-game losing streak. The Huskers are emerging from a brutal stretch that included losses to Virginia Tech, Missouri and Texas Tech -- all ranked teams -- and must avoid thinking they can let up any today. After all, ISU is 5-5 on its home field under second-year coach Gene Chizik and led ranked Kansas 20-0 at halftime two weeks ago before eventually losing to the Jayhawks 35-33.

Will the Huskers bounce back today?

The predictions:

Bob Hamar, assistant sports editor: Nebraska 31, Iowa State 17

Tony Boone, sports writer: Nebraska 20, Iowa State 14

Terry Douglass, sports editor: Nebraska 27, Iowa State 24
