Sadler won't let up

As the short-handed Nebraska men's basketball team faces the possibility of a grueling final two weeks of the season, Cornhuskers' first-year coach Doc Sadler said he isn't likely to let a shortage of able bodies change the way he coaches.

Nebraska (16-11, 5-8 Big 12) will close the regular season with three games in a six-day span -- Wednesday vs. Iowa State, Saturday at Colorado and Monday vs. Oklahoma State in a game rescheduled due to weather. After that, the Huskers would begin play Thursday in the Big 12 Tournament where they would have to win four consecutive days to capture the title.

"If I'm sitting here and we're all playing (a week from) Sunday, I don't care how we've done it," Sadler said. "If I'm sitting here and we're still playing (a week from) Friday, I'll be happy.

"The only thing that's a given is that we're going to play the next three games and then there's the tournament on Thursday. Nothing's going to change.”

Sadler indicated that the Huskers need to focus and go all-out in hopes of winning their last three conference games. If Nebraska can beat Iowa State at home and defeat Big 12 cellar-dweller Colorado, that could set up a game Monday with Oklahoma State that could have postseason ramifications for both

"A lot depends on what happens Wednesday and Saturday," Sadler said. "It could end up being a huge game for both of us."
