NU-Missouri pick

Just by looking at the stats and past performances, it's definitely not a stretch to say that Nebraska will come out on top Saturday in its road game at Missouri.

However, playing at Faurot Field in Columbia might just be the key factor as it seems weird things have been happening there of late when the Huskers and Tigers meet. There was the OT thriller in 1997 and the fourth-quarter collapse in 2003, just to name a couple of surprising contests.

Here's a guess that Mizzou quarterback Brad Smith is going to have a monster game. The Tigers flopped last year in Lincoln and after last Saturday, it seems there's been a bit of buzz about MU backup quarterback Chase Daniel, who led his team back in an OT win over Iowa State. Mr. Daniel's performance might just serve as major motivation for Smith.

Missouri 31, Nebraska 21

So, stats and team performance are effectively trumped by Faurot Field voodoo and a potentially (emphasis on 'potentially') motivated Smith? That's the first I've heard about that development. Thanks for breaking the story, Terry.

Terry your reasoning here makes as much sense as Tim Griffin who wrote the ESPN Big 12 midterm report and didn't mention us at all and said that Iowa State, Kansas, K-State and Colorado from the North were bowl bound. Just like Mr. Griffin is wrong, you are too.
Huskers 35 Mizzou 17

How do you still have a job?

Folks, calm down now. Those of us with high-school aged children can be very relieved by Terry's influence. Why, now I can be a little more at ease knowing that when my children come home with failing grades, exhibit no useful job skills, & squander thier time playing video games, that one day, they too can have a career as a sports journalist for the G.I. Independent. Great pick, Terry.

pretty good pick terry.

I think mizzou will win 27-17 however. Finally playing an actual road game. We still haven't beat a good team yet.

Terry, after reading your columns the last 2 years, I'm surprised you're not predicting the outcome of Ohio University football games.

Yeah I read that too. I guess for $20 the posters at HP feel they have the right to elicit sex from each other.

NEBRASKA IS THE PICK PEOPLE

Being a former Nebraskan now living in Tennessee for the past few years, I've had to rely on internet news and message boards to follow up on my Huskers ... frankly (pun intended), from this safe distance it is both obvious and disgusting how some supposed "fans" are so hung up on the firing of an ineffective coach (everyone seems to forget the 7-7 nightmare season) that they feel the need to attack directly or indirectly the current staff and team in any way imaginable. I'm looking forward to NU's win over the Tigers today, and for the time in which these "fans" are heard from no more.

If anyone wants to know who is a fan and who isn't just ask anonymous in Tennessee and he will tell you.

It's a riot watching the bigredboard losers act almost as if this was a win. Of course Adolph Train Wreck told his posters they couldn't say anything negative. Where can I get my uniform? Is it next to the gas chambers, or next to Eva Braun's closet?

Want some real fun? if you payed the $20 on HP post a criticisms of any of the NU coaches. make it a fair criticisms and be specific. count how many seconds until Jaxboro creams his jeans.

that dude is on 24/7 and he responds to anybody who doesn't toe the HP line instantly.

'boro will get over it. If 'boro can't handle it, I'm sure 'boro will just baby up and go 'boro his head in the asses of his buddies. 'boro needs to realize that he isn't going to change people's opinions by acting like that, 'boro would do better playing a little nicer. And why would anyone pay to post on a stupid message board? I lurk all day at HP, but because of guys like 'boro, I don't feel the need.
