Obviously, this has nothing to do with who will actually become Nebraska's next football coach, but here are the odds e-mailed to media outlets by the gambling Web site bodog.com.

While I might agree with Bo Pelini as the 3-1 favorite, I would guess that Turner Gill's odds might be better than 6-1 -- the same odds given to Boise State coach Chris Petersen. Just a guess.

This also begs the question: Is there anything you can't bet on these days?

BOULDER, Colo. -- Fans have been dusting a little snow off their seats and the windchill factor is 15 degrees, but it's about time to kick things off in the annual battle between Nebraska and Colorado.

Most suspect this will be the final game for Cornhuskers coach Bill Callahan and his staff. That decision will likely be announced Saturday. Now, it's time for some football.

LINCOLN -- It's the home finale for Nebraska and the Cornhuskers find themselves in a most unusal situation heading into today's game against Kansas State. Not only is NU looking to snap a five-game losing, but needs a win over the Wildcats to avoid having a losing home record for the first time since 1968.

There are several other subplots to today's game. It's the last home contest for 29 Nebraska seniors and could very well be the last hurrah here for coach Bill Callahan and his coaching staff. Plus, here's guessing one or two Husker fans will remind Kansas State quarterback Josh Freeman of his recruiting flip-flot as he spurned NU to become a Wildcat. Should be interesting.

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- The Joe Ganz era begins today as Nebraska (4-5, 1-4 Big 12) limps to Kansas with a four-game losing streak. In past years, that would've been a good thing for the Huskers as they have won 37 of the past 38 games against the Jayhawks.

Obviously, things are much, much different this year. Kansas is off to an 8-0 start and has a defense that ranks among the best in the nation statistically. Nebraska put together a spirited effort last week in a 28-25 loss at Texas, but with the injury situation the Huskers are facing and the unknown of Ganz replacing the injured Sam Keller at quarterback, an upset bid seems unlikely.
